Merritt Island Roots run deep! Work ethic was instilled in Chad at a young age, routine 5am mornings picking out dead shrimp and sweeping the floors at his families bait and tackle shop “Paulsen’s Bait & Tackle” on 520-present day The Island Waterfront Bar & Grill and afternoons spent exploring most of the Banana River on anything that would float. Chads upbringing was everything the Space Coast stood for!
Obtaining a Real Estate license at 19 years old, and a never ending personal quest to challenge himself daily, it’s no surprise that Blue Marlin has quickly became the #1 Independent Brokerage in Brevard County and a household name in the community!
In his spare time he can be found offshore fishing or inshore on those same waters that raised him as a kid, this time with his family where his love for the area and its waterways are now being shared.
Nick has never looked at Real Estate as a business, but more of a lifestyle. Growing up the son of a Real Estate Developer, Nick was fortunate to learn about the industry from a place that very few have. Decades later, these homes that his family developed in neighborhoods such as Egrets Cove, Hacienda Del Sol, Lansing Island and Marsh Harbor, are more relevant now than ever. Custom over production was always the mindset, very similar to the “raise the bar” mentality that Blue Marlin demonstrates every single day. Upon graduating with his Bachelor’s Degree from the University Of Central Florida at the age of 19, Nick decided to put his lifelong Real Estate knowledge to work. All this mixed with his childhood friend and business partner, Chad Paulsen, has created this perfect storm we now know as Blue Marlin Real Estate. “Gaining information for inspiration,” when not working Nick and his family can be found exploring all that Florida has to offer. Candidly, this usually results in partaking in his family’s favorite pastime, driving around and looking at Real Estate!
Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Kayla relocated to the Space Coast in 2014 and has been loving this area ever since! Kayla attended University of Louisville where she studied Business Administration as well as Marketing, and has been putting those skills to work at Blue Marlin for over 3 years now. Watching the small, local company she believed in when she came on board explode into the powerhouse it is today has been a fun and exciting ride! When Kayla isn’t working hard to keep the BMRE office running smoothly, you can find her biking, boating, or beaching with her boyfriend, Jeremy, and their English Bulldog, Winston.
At a very young age, Christina developed a deep passion for the arts. In 2016 Christina turned her passion into a career when she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design – Go Noles! Today she is able to apply her love for design at Blue Marlin Real Estate as their in-house graphic designer. Having known Chad and Nick for years, BMRE felt like home from day one. She’s proud to say that she’s never had a position more fulfilling and challenging due to Blue Marlin’s constant growth. On the weekends Christina spends her time gardening, drawing, or with her boyfriend, Ryan, and their dog, Bliss.
Growing up in Brevard, Chloe has experienced a variety of local lifestyles even for such a young age. She began working as soon as she could in a local family owned & operated restaurant, Zarrella’s. There she learned a fast-paced & hard work ethic, people skills and overall professionalism through many different scenarios, all while serving a variety of NASA and SpaceX icons.
Chloe began her Real Estate journey in 2018 as a part-time receptionist for her Aunt’s brokerage. Working her way up to a full-time administrative assistant to a licensed realtor, she met Nick & Chad. After a little less than a year as an assistant, Chloe was brought on as Blue Marlin’s Social Media Director and the rest is history…
From being sponsored for her Jeep builds to just boating the local channels with her friends and family, Chloe is a prime example of our next generation of Brevard locals, working hard and playing even harder!! Today, Chloe can be found offroading, working on her 370Z, jet skiing those same local channels or out and about with her pit, Bo, traveling any chance they get!
Misty is a lifetime resident of Brevard County, born and raised in Cocoa. After marrying her husband Joe, they moved around until they decided to plant their roots on “the Island” where he grew up. She now loves living on the Island and everything it has to offer.
Misty’s adventure with Blue Marlin came about by knowing Nick for many years! Thanks to him, she has met a great group of people and gets to work in an office that is full of positive energy.
That being said, she enjoys spending after work hours with her family grilling, playing pool, boating, island hopping or floating in Sebastian Inlet. She loves to spoil her three dogs Sparky, a one-eyed Yorkie, Rocco, who is a black lab and a true gentleman & Alli who is a yellow lab and a sweetheart but slightly ditzy.
Although she was born in Long Island New York, Eliz moved to Merritt Island at a young age and only knows and loves the island lifestyle! Her father moved her family here with aspirations to elevate his boat canvas and upholstery business. Given her family history, it’s no wonder her favorite pastimes all include the water – boating, beaching and swimming to name a few. It was from her father that Eliz learned her strong work ethic, loyalty, drive, and passion for professionalism. Prior to Blue Marlin, Eliz was working for a large corporation advising small business owners, but craving a place for her strengths to align with a local family-oriented company who embodied similar morals and goals to match her own. Needless to say, Blue Marlin Real Estate checked all the boxes – and was the perfect fit! When she’s not on the water or busy fishing for new Marlins to join our team, you might find Eliz reading a book, listening to crime podcasts or spending time with her fiance Nate, son Joshua, and step daughters Savannah and Brooklyn.
